About Us
BHS Zero Waste is a student-led club at Berkeley High School. Our mission is to inspire a waste-free world, and to help the youth in our community take steps in reducing waste. We educate students in ways they can make a contribution to the fight against climate change, with simple steps that anyone can take in their daily lifestyle.
The members of our club find small changes they can pledge to make in their own lives, and encourage their friends and family to do the same. We know that making a large-scale difference starts with small acts. In addition to learning how to reduce waste, together we have eco art classes in which we make things that replace packaged or disposable items, as well as art out of trash that we sell to fundraise. Two more of our waste-reducing projects are out clothing and jar exchanges, which are held once a month in the community.
